U.S. agricultural trade deficit is projected to be a record $45.5 billion in fiscal year 2025, according to the USDA. This is a significant increase from the previous year's deficit of $31.8 billion, which was already a record, in 2020 the deficit was only 3.7 billion.
Exports are expected to reach $170 billion in fiscal year 2025. Meanwhile, imports are projected to reach a record $215.5 billion, with horticulture products imports forecast to reach $105.5 billion.
