To achieve uniform flowering and budding in peaches, it is essential to accumulate chilling hours during dormancy, with the specific amount required varying by variety. In the Gumucio Reyes variety, it was found that flowering increased as chilling hours accumulated, reaching nearly 100% at 400 chilling hours. This suggests that the chilling hours requirements for breaking dormancy in floral buds in this variety are between 300 and 450 chilling hours.
